    Freakies

If you were a kid in the 70's, you'll probably remember enjoying the sugary delights of Freakies cereal. Actually, the cereal wasn't that great, but the commercials and toy prizes were what got you hooked - or at least that's what happened in my case. Original Freakies' creator Jackie End has revived the characters (if not the cereal) at her website, where you can read bios on each of the Freakies, hear the original theme song, order a video of the 70's television ads, and buy official t-shirts. About the only thing you won't find here is a substitute for that original sugar high, but hearing the Freakies belt out their theme song is close.

Probably my favorite cereal characters besides Quisp. I still have some of the old balloon cars that came as a prize.

Quisp is my all time favorite cereal, but I LOVED the Freakies. I think it tasted a lot like Quisp. Anyhow, I still have all the plastic figures.

          We are the Freakies.....

My doppleganger strikes again! I was about to mention how much I loved the ballon cars. I grabbed set with a decent BIN last year.

                Were they regional ?

I don't ever remember seeing or hearing about them until well into the '90's when they were already "retro"

Here's a good link to cereal premiums, including Freakies:

I have one of those Freakmobiles somewhere...

I never ate the cereal, but I loved the commercials! I think they had fruity Freakies for a while, and my friend liked those.

"We are the Freakies, we are the Freakies and this is the Freakies Tree,
We never miss a meal, 'cos we love our ce-re-ell!"

And I loved those Grins & Smiles & Giggles & Laughs commercials too.
"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."

Those Freakmobiles are the balloon cars I was talking about. They also had a set of balloon boats that were cool.
