Because it gives us a feeling of POWER!
WE are in charge....not the "man".
....Of course that feeling of empowerment quickly disappears as we end up getting to work late, and have to make up some crazy story for the boss about having to clean up the yard this morning after those damn neighborhood kids emptied out my trash bags on the lawn sometime last night!!!!

I never understood the concept of a snooze button and have never used one.
Probably because I don't fall asleep easily and when the alarm clock sounds, I'm awake...no falling back to sleep for me. So I just set the alarm at the last possible moment knowing there is no time to snooze."The farther we go, the more the ultimate explanation recedes from us, and all we have left is faith."
