Has anybody in here built a custom brick BBQ grill?

I want to build one with the help of some friends.

To get an idea...along the lines of this...

Build a Brick Barbecue : Home Improvement : Home Garden Television

But...it's too small (or is it?). Plus how can I cover (and have the option) and make it work as a slow-cook smoker as well?

Any of you guys have/made one?

    Pictures?

    Ideas?

    Is brick ok...how about concrete?

    Help!!!

I might also make an Argentino Asado grill instead...it's quite different...but it's awesome as well.

My neighbor is Uruguayan...their customs and food are basically identical to Argentina...so he might help me build it.

It sort of looks like this...

Prefabricated Brick Concrete Grills : Asado Argentina

But mine will be made of either brick or concrete.

Argentines don't cover their stuff like in American smokers...what they do is build a grill that has many steps of degrees of height...that way you control the intensity of the flame...you just place the meat in a tilted position...or if it has a crank...you slowly start elevating the grill slowly and ever so often.

I would not build one like the one above in the picture.

They have that kind at my local state park and they're really bad because they don't have a wind breaker.

The back and sides are too low
