Embrace Your Geekness Day is a great day to be a Geek. Or, to know a Geek.

A geek is an individual who is highly intelligent (brainy) and technically oriented. They are most often associated with the computer, and computer systems world. A geek is usually formal, studious and into his technical world, often to the exclusion of all else. A geek is closely related to a "Nerd". A nerd however, may or may not possess technical expertise.

Some people view the term "Geek" with a negative connotation. Are they jealous of your knowledge and skills, perhaps? We certainly think so.

Enjoy Embrace Your Geekness Day to the fullest. Spend plenty of time with your computer. Talk computer lingo and jargon. If you are a geek, stand tall and proud. Isn't it great to be so brilliant and gifted!?

I think MOST of the non action-figure collecting community would label us that, even if many of us don't fit the majority of "the profile" or can "pass" for non-geeks when away from our Megos!!

All of my Buddies (away from the few I have actually met in real life from the board) are some of the most turn-your-nose-up-at -this-kind-of-thing Dudes you could ever meet. Once I joined up here and started eBaying, I came right out and said, "Here's what I'm into. Don't expect you to give a damn and I won't bring it up, but I'm having a lot of fun and talking to some great folks." Apparently, that's all you gotta say. Pretty soon, I'm getting phone calls along the lines of, "Hey, Dude....uh, I saw some GI JOE Adventure Team figures just like the ones that were out when we were kids at Wal-Mart. You want me to snag some for you?" And, "Dude, next time you're in that place, how 'bout 'cha snag me one of them Captain America T-Shirts you have."

Heck, one of them now is collecting GI JOE, SMDM, and lunch boxes.

Seriously, I think one of the reasons "The Big Bang Theory" is doing so well is because a lot of people, who have sublimated their inner-Geek, get the jokes because almost everyone has a Geek side.
