I hate dentists in America.

I hate American dentists.

I have a toothache and need a tooth pulled (it's pretty far gone).

I don't have dental insurance, so I have to pay for getting it pulled straight out of my pocket.

The cheapest price I could find is $230.00 per tooth (that's for a normal easy lower tooth)

To make matters worst, I found out if I had dental insurance the price would have been considerably less.

Question: .... Wouldn't you think the dentist would LOVE cash and give me more of a discount then a person with insurance ?

The American healthcare system sucks... and American doctors are all bandits.

I called about 15 places in a 40 mile radius around me.

All of them charge the same -- give or take a few dollars

See if there's a dental school in your area. I know in Baltimore you could get work done for cheap by students.

I paid a bunch tears back to get a filling WITH insurance. Because that type of filling wasn't covered! That was the beginning of the end for me with the dentist. I just stopped going.

Man do they suck your cash dry if you have no insurance imo..
... I personally am afraid of the Dentist... Man,.. I get freaked out when that crap is in my Mouth,.. & they are standing over you with those tools,.. Gloves,.. & that Damn Mask on... I break out in Cold Sweats,.. Chills, & it feel's like I am going to pass out everytime. It's Frightful.

Tooth pain is not a joking matter. I have had 7 root canals because when I was young I got some huge fillings while in the Air force that just fell apart over time. Each tooth absessed and oh the pain! They also cost $1,000 each AFTER insurance for the root canals and the crowns that came after. My dentist loves seeing me.

But seriously Mike...go through Craigslist...sometimes local dental schools advertise needing patients.

You could get it done for free...or for a nominal fee.

Also...hospitals equipped with dental facilities...sometimes treat emergency cases for free.

...and yet another alternative would be Mexico...dental work down there is much cheaper than the States.
