What happened to jumptheshark.com. It looks like TV Guide took it over and all the post from tears of the site being up are gone! This sucks. It was a great and long standing internet community. I hope this never happens the the Mego Museum.

I used to work for TV Guide from 1995-1999 at their HQ in Radnor, PA. Got tons of free Star Trek stuff, 16x20 and 24x26 posters of covers (two of which hang beside my desk), boxes of spare Star Trek issues that I would auction off at conventions for charity or just give away.
Got a few free Shatner autographs on 8.5 x 11 and 16 x 20 prints of Kirk covers. The Shat signed them as part of a deal to place ads in the TV Guide for that pre-paid calling card company that he co-owned back in the 90s. The deal fell through so TV Guide was stuck with a stack of these hand signed pics. I ended up with two 16x20 and five 8.5x11. I still have one of each. The rest I auctioned off for charities at SF conventions or traded for other cool Trek collectibles.
I have no idea what the Guide was going to do with the autographs even if the deal with the phone cards had gone through.
Remember "Star Trek The Magazine" that came out in the late 90s and ran for about four years? I think that was published by GE Fabri, they were associated with TV Guide, either we were both under the same parent or whatever. All I know is that one of the sales ladies got me a free copy every month...even after I quit, she still mailed them to me for another few months then they stopped coming. Took a few to conventions and got them signed.*****************:~~~~~~~~~~~~~~:***************** ********

Jumptheshark was sold to TV guide in 2005 or so, made it's creator a millionaire.
I personally welcome our potential new corporate masters at TV Guide and will gladly do their bidding.Places to find PlaidStallions online: https://linktr.ee/Plaidstallions

Man that was a cool site, sad to see it go.
Anyone remember Yesterdayland.com ?
That was a great site, that just dissapeared in 2002. Lots of old tv stuff on there, even some pretty obscure pilots that aired once and things like that.
I dont want to start another ranting thread, but it sucks sucks sucks when something great like jump the shark gets eaten by some coporate beast and destroyed.

Years ago I used to read some of the Jump the Shark stuff members wrote on that site.
I got the idea there was a lot of trolls and trouble-makers over there.
It seems that calling shows "racist" was one of their biggest things to start arguements.
They either had bad mods, or no mods at all on most of the topics I read.
Needless to say, it wasn't my cup of tea and I moved on.Comment

I have seen alot of "this movie was racist" or "this movie was homohpobic"
threads on there now.
SIlly, and even sillier the people that fall for the trolls.

I still have a subscription to TV Guide but it pretty much lost all charm to me when they went to a magazine format to compete with everyone else out there.....The Fall Preview Issue hasn't been the same thrill since....Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging!Comment
