LOL u must be joking, there was nothing here, Ill put my collection as a bet, that no one has even heard of mego, in Poland. This place is a collectors desert, for our 70-80's toys, no kennner, mego etc. They had some bootleg star wars, that was empire, apart from that tin toys, and fluffy bears. I was born and lived in the u.k, for 26 years, so thats were I know mego from, if i hadnt discovered. ebay, I would be a rich bloke I clasify myself as polish 100%, and never any part english, how long have u lived in the states?

      Thanks for the info, Alex.
I kind of figured they didn't have anything because of the commies.

how long have u lived in the states?

I was born in the USA.
My family (both sides) originally came to the US from Krakow, Galicia in 1908, so we've been here for quite a while.

Hi Alex, do you remember much about what was in the shops in the UK. I have vague memories of Palitoy carded fist fighters, but don't remember much else.

I remember my local toy shop, I lived in Ealing, W5, I was more a star wars kid, and remember them hanging on pegs to high for me to reach, mego, I was star trek from that, I remember my scotty well, so when I finally got him in, after all these years, a rush of nostalgia went through me. I remember the apes, but have no memory of WGSH, I wasnt into superhero comics, more beano, dandy , buster, but loved my Adam West batman. I remember the Dr, who stuff, I was always facinated by tardis, standing on the counter( never had any of those). I just always remember collecting something.

I was a big Fantastic Four fan, I don't remember ever seeing a Mr fantastic or Invisible Girl back then.
I knew that they existed because I had seen them in the American comicbook ads. It wasn't until the 1980s comic marts in London that i actually got to see those two. I would have loved a set of those as a kid.

I picked up my first AJ & Spiderman at Newfields on 103rd St. in Corona Queens, it was later changed to five & dime. Those were the good old days.....
