I drink some bottled waters, but mainly rely on a Brita filter for my drinking water. Depending on where you live, they put a ton of chemicals in regular drinking water...especially a "safe" form of chloride. Some people (like me) with allergies, or very sensitive pallets can taste it.
Calgary recently upgraded its systems so they dont put as much in...the first to do so in North America. When I worked in the plant (as a contractor with somebody else) they told us the percentage was so low that it counted as "chemical free" water. Maybe so...but I can still taste it.
They also add flouride to the water in Calgary. As it is I suffered from flourosis (too much flouride---makes dull/flat white spots on your teeth) when I was a kid because our well had flouride in the water from a natural source.
