Your favorite meal(s) when you were a kid

Many of us remember Mom saying that to us as we went outside to play. But what was your favorite meal to come home to? I had several:

Spaghetti & clam sauce
Steak w/ palm oil and rice
Fish Stix, mac & cheese, french cut green beans.

Hot Dogs and hamburgers!
Spare ribs and mashed potatoes
Tuna salad sandwiches
Steak and homemade fries with garlic salt

Bacon Lettuce and Tomato Sandwiches. It used to drive my father mad that I would ask for them at fancy restaurants. They ALWAYS were able to make them. He would always shake his head and ask why I wouldn't order off the menu like normal people.

Then I discovered Filet Mignon. And he started asking me why I didn't want BLT's anymore.

Growing up in rural Illinois, we ate a lot of rabbit, deer, and squirrel. Besides that, porkchops, fried chicken, spaghetti and meatballs. Sides usually included mashed potatoes, creamed corn, corn on the cob, peas, that sort of thing.

My Mom made the worlds' greatest fried chicken. She also made great chili, spaghetti, pot roast, hamburgers, sloppy joes...the list goes on and on.

We didn't have dessert with every meal, but when we did, man o' man. Her butterscotch pie was the top for me. And her bananna pudding was awesome as well.

I was a well-fed boy! Luckily for me, my wife is also a great cook, and picked up a lot from my Mom, so the tradition continues.

As a kid:

Hot Dog with mustard, ketchup, chili, cheese, onion, and cole slaw!!!

Now:

Same!!!!

Cabbage Rolls (Cabbage filled with Sausage and rice, in a tomato sauce)

For Breakfast it would be my Pop's homemade crepes!
