As an aside, from a toy perspective, Michael's youngest son "Blanket" was holding a Michael Jackson doll, (singing version manufactured in Europe), throughout the service. He must miss his dad so much!

Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic

      Very moving yes!

I agree! Very, very moving yes! But I really just feel horrible for his children. Watching his daughter break down the way she did was heartbreaking to me. Doesn't matter what you, I or the world thought/felt of Michael. To those kids its was Daddy! Losing a parents isn't easy!

I do hope the media backs off now. There is much, much more going on that we should be concerned about!

I'll end by saying RIP Michael Jackson and may the children fall into loving, caring hands to guide them through this crazy world.

Stevie Wonder was amazing. I thought it pushed the envelope of taste and disbelief as a ceremony, and I thought the presentation of the daughter gross and exploitative (Michael would not have wanted that!), but Stevie was just poignant. THERE'S the great musical genius of pop music!

my first thought about the daughter was aw. until the moved her hair out of her face adjusted the mic and told her to speak up. then it made me sick. I hope to hell if the grandparents get custody the kids are not exploited in anyway. but look at the family only one close to normal is Janet

            1) Yeah it was bit uncomfortable that they moved her hair/told her to
speak up, but if they didn't her whole "moment" there would
have been a lot less accessible.
Now it's the highlight of the whole service.

            2) Ironically, I think Janet was the one that was "stage prepping"
her the most (I think?) and you had mentioned how Janet
was the one "close to normal". No biggie.

            3) I agree that it's a bit harsh for the ones that despise Michael and this
hubbub to muck-muck all over this thread---but, it IS a public forum after
all and in this case, I guess I can understand the "need" to vent over
the death's over-exposure and "child-stuff" allegations that many believe
to be true, as opposed to the "haters" just being cheap and
urinating on his grave by making fun of how he looks or his music for example
(not that there hasn't been smatterings of THAT stuff here and there).

            Anyways bless everyone, ya know?

kinda my point, her "moment" shoulda been for family only, not the world. if she mispoke, if her hair was outta place it shouldnta mattered

One day far in the future the daughter will be very happy that she managed to get those words out today, I thought the aunts and uncles did well to help her do so.

I was also pleasantly surprised at how restarined, respectful and classy the whole thing was, kudos to the organisers.

You make a respectable point...but I'm leaning more towards
                  Sowth's post on this one.

I heard on the news that they had a smaller, family memorial service before the public/media service. Is that true?

but seriously, it's all about perspective, my fear is that was one step forward towards exploiting the children. i hope i'm wrong

Thanks for wording all that for me Will. . . .

Yeah, she chose to speak. . . and if I was up there. . .I would have done the same for any child. . . .love them or not. . . .they were the right actions to take, for a child having made that decison.

I can't tell you how much I hope you're wrong.

                          That was MY point.

That doesn't mean I think what you said was out of the
                          realm of reasonable thought.

I'd just like to think there was nothing wrong with what happened

I think it was great that she spoke, It shows that he was a loving dad and maybe that could help change some of the doubters minds out there, and if it did....it was worth it

I was watching footage of him yesterday with the kids and their Birthdays, and you could just see that they were his life and he looked like a great dad

I don't doubt Jackson loved his kids. I think it's his love for them that he'd cringe at them being exploited by his dad who raised him so wonderfully note sarcasm.

I guess only the future will tell if/when young paris has a cd out singing her dads hits produced by the grandfather.
