Does anyone remember the contest McDonald's had during the 1984 Summer Olympics? You got a game card and scratched it off. It revealed an Olympic event and if the US won bronze in that event, you won a drink, silver was fries, and gold was a large sandwich.
Back then, the game pieces were not on the cups and wrappers, they were just cards at the registers. I remember asking for some and they would give me a hand full.
My family was on vacation during the Olymics and I think we ate free when ever we stopped because we had so many game pieces and the US was setting records for most medals won.
Summer (especially during Olympics like last year) always reminds me of that vacation.
Also, we vacationed in West Virgina (where my parents are from), and we stayed in the same town Mary Lou Ritten was from, the town was crazy.
