Boxing fans knows how truly great Alexis Arguello was...not only a great fighter...but probably the classiest gentleman inside the ring.

Man...his fights against Aaron Pryor and Ray "Boom Boom" Mancini were classics!

Apparent suicide...but some are saying foul play.

WHAT??? Oh man I loved this guy. Class is what he was. He will be greatly missed. I am EXTREMELY saddened by this. I met him on a few occassions and he was the nicest guy. Oh man this hurts!

I gotta share a story about Alexis that is dear to me. In 1992 I met him at the boxing hall of fame. As we (my wife and I) came to his table for an autograph he stood up, kissed my wife's hand and welcomed us. Later that day an older woman was attempting to climb some stairs and Alexis saw this, dropped what he was doing and ran to the lady and helped her with the stairs. Not too many stars would do that. This has hit me hard so I'm done posting about him. Sorry

I know...probably the classiest and nicest boxer ever.

This one is sad for me as well....I can't say the same thing for most famous people... even the recently deceased ones..except for Farrah Fawcet's death.

Wasn't his height to reach ratio kind of remarkable?

Sorry, I'm not much of a boxing historian but 5'10" with a 72" reach seems kind of freaky.

I only picked up on that because that is my exact height and reach. My buddies have always called me Dr. Zaius with Arsenio Hall's hands.

I can only imagine the advantage that would give someone who can punch like he could.
