    How NOT to cast a Mego head..

    After Mego Meet and seeing my kid's interest in making his own figures, we got some clay and a Smooth-On starter kit (rubber/resin combo $49.99).

    Now, sculpting is proving to be interesting, and we cast our first heads this weekend....well, sorta.

    Had several successes, but in the last batch I just did, I HAD to share this one.

    What happened was this; I was going on my forth casting...after pouring slowly on the first three...the resin was getting hot...

    Half-way through pouring the forth head....whoosh..the resin started turning white...in a panic, knowing it was already ruined...I poured it all in at once, really fast... Kinda globbed up and I couldn't wait for 20 minutes to be up and see what happend...

    that, my friend, is awesome..and sadly, ive done a few like that too...it just takes practice and better timing, you'll get it down, im sure...
