True. Whatever is going to get you, is going to get you. "Time and chance happens to all of us" (to paraphrase Solomon).

From my perspective, I come from a long line of fatties with heart disease and if I didn't do what I do, I'd be in a lot of trouble. As it is, I'm about 12 years away from outliving my Grandfather and I am the absolute skinniest of all the males descended from him. Dad has had a major heart attack and two of my three Uncles are already gone from.....heart attacks. My surviving Uncle....had a heart attack. My cousins are absolutely heading down the same path. Last time I took my BP....115/63, pulse 65 bpm. Weight 185 lbs. down from a high of 210 lbs.

        Thanks, Dude.

I just had me a little minor breakdown thinking about my Granddad. Geez, I was right there with him when he had the heart-attack that killed him and though I was only 3, I can tell you every detail about the day and moment when it happened. He was my best-friend. When that same thing happened to my Dad, after watching two of my Uncles kick the bucket, I figured I needed to be real careful.

Now, I could get hit by a bus tomorrow, but I can't control that. That which I can control, the things that would have prolonged Granddad's and my Uncles' lives and would have saved Dad and my Uncle Gene the pain and trouble of having major heart-attacks, I feel like I have controlled.

Ha, I'll have to try one but it just makes me think, wow, another thing McDonalds swiped from Burger Chef. (first it was their fun meal, complete with kiddie graphics package and toy prize). And then what became of Burger Chef? Hardies. Sound familiar? (1/3rd lb Angus Burger). But I'll still try one. I just think it rather ironic.

So who is Mickey D's trying to compete with here? Hardees? I really expected the next rip off burger to be a 5 Guys style hand made patty.

Five guys is the best. I'm lucky to have around 5 of them within driving distance of my house. Tried Mickey D's Angus burger. Was okay, if a little dry.

Easy. As much I desire meat...I'm such a food-a-holic that
it doesn't really matter to my brain that I'm a vegetarian
because I desire the other stuff just as much.

I support PETA - People Eating Tasty Animals. Nice to pet better to eat. Not that I have a problem with vegetarians or vegans, more meat for me. If they're standing at the salad bar they can't slow the waitress down from bringing me my steak with a side of BBQ ribs. I'm not a total animal though, I eat fish too.
