Ever Make Yourself Out To Be A Liar .....

.... collecting wise. I was just sitting here looking over my collection and noticed how many things I have that I said I would never buy.
'77 Superhero Slurpee cups. I said I'd never get them and only wanted the original series. Same goes for the DC Slurpee cups. Thought to myself I'm a Marvel guy so I'll never pick up the DC series ... wrong again.
Comic Action Heroes, Pocket Heroes and Bend n Flex lines, I thought they looked goofy and I'm now collecting and love them as much as the 8" line.
And again with the 8" figures. I said to myself I'd never collect any other lines besides the WGSHs. Lied about that one too. It goes on and on.

All the time in my 20's when Booze & chicks were involved..., ooohhh wait,.. we are talking about toys,.. Ok then,, well only when a price discussion comes up with the Miss's ... when something might magically show up at the house I wasn't ready for.

About 3-4 years ago I scaled back my collection immensely--got rid of my 12 inch Megos, my CAH's, etc etc. In an attempt at self control I told my wife that all the vintage toys I own will fit in the single case I have set aside for toys. Well, after that purge a few years ago let's just say I have filled a few more shelves since then (and I miss the stuff I got rid of!).......

Captain Action...it was a line I used to think sucked. Until you hold a Captain Action figure in your hand you will think it's a lame figure. Then you see all the cool accessories it came with. Sucks you right in and then you have almost all the Super Heroes.

Their eyes can't hope to see
              The beauty that surrounds them
              Isn't it a pity".

I told myself I would stop buying until I sold some stuff, but I am at it again.

I have pretended to be "done collecting" so much it has lost all meaning.

I told myself to hold up after Mego Meet for a while since I was low on funds. Yea, right. Like that worked.

I was never going to collect anything but vintage SW. Then I was only ever going to get Mego Apes. Then maybe just Star Trek. Well, then maybe just the Hero's I had as a kid. Well, then maybe just a few other things, but never Chips, WOZ, Dukes and such. Well, maybe just those as well.

A year or so ago I would have bet anyone big money that I would never collect the Marvel Secret Wars figures. They were just not vintage enough ..... yep, now I have a shelf full of them carded and loose.

Yeah, I keep saying the "I'm not going to buy anything until I sell something I have" thing, too. Meanwhile, I've forgotten what the floor of our basement looked like.
                            It's all good!
