Looks like TLC is halting production on it.

That's surprising, since I heard they had a contract for at least 40 more episodes. But will they leave well enough alone, or retool the show with just Kate? Maybe "Me, Me, Me, and Oh Yeah, My 8 Kids".

ts turned the multi channeled tv-verse into a wasteland of crap.
Agreed. And who is it to blame. Survivor really made the genre (if you call it that) popular, but "The Real World" was really the first of it's kind. And not only did it ruin the once imaginative artform of television, it loosed Judd Winick on our favorite comic characters.

I guess Hollywood likes it because it's cheap. They don't have to pay writers as much (although most are scripted) and most of the "actors" have some kind of incentive to be on there in lieu of much, if any, pay.

Give me Gilligan's Island reruns any day over this crap. Hell, even Small Wonder!!!

May I first say that I absolutely hate reality TV.
Sorry, but I find other people's lives not that interesting.
The only reason I sometimes watch LA Ink/Miami Ink is....for the tattoos.

I saw a brief flash of an interview with Kate. They asked her about her marriage issues, and she answered "you should watch the new series on TV".
Wow. Like, the success of the TV show comes first, not her marriage?

Well, on the bright side: they can still keep four kids each!

Like many that commented, my wife is also addicted to the show and I've had to watch the occasional episode.
Just to keep it short. These two deserve the same contempt that the octo-mom has received. They've got 8 small children that need both their parents. John/Kate need to do right by them, stop treating them like a meal ticket and work out their differences. I don't care if he did cheat and that she's a castrating beotch. They made their collective beds. Time to put themselves aside and think about the children.
              Hey! Check out the pictures.

I'm not surprised at all. I heard they had a bunch of problems. I tried watching that show but I couldn't get into it. I wish the best for the kids

                    It's always the same thing.
A couple wants a ton of kids.
But their own relationship is messed up.

They split up, and the kids can deal with the trauma.

In a couple of months time, Pitt and Jolie will split up, same story.
                    "Ooooh, we want ten kids!!!"

Yeah, and a couple of years down the road.....

Trust me Hector - I see it all the time in my line of work...I don't care where kids live or what their socio-economic status is...

Divorce is always messy and the kids rarely recover well from it. I do feel sorry for them because this will affect them for the rest of their lives.
