The Story of me getting to see Star Trek.

    Had to share this story

So Friday was my Birthday. My wife told me once we got to Huntsville, she had a surprise for me.
When we et to my parents house, she tells me my folks are going to watch our daughter and we are going to dinner and a movie. The movie is Star Trek. My wife is not a trekkie and is going to see this movie just because its my birthday.

Diner was nice (Macaroni Grill) now its time to see the movie.

The theater we planned to see the movie at, was closed , due to technical problems. So, we had to drive across town. The next theater is not showing Trek for another 2 hours. So we drive to the 3rd, and last theater showing Trek. We buy our tickets and settle down to watch the show.

We see about 30 minutes of the film, when the movie goes off and the lights come one. The manager informs us that all of south Huntsville has no power. After hanging around for 30 minutes we ask for a refund, and we get it.

So yes I got to see the new Trek movie, but only the first 30 minutes.

They should have replenished their dilithium crystals in time.
I mean, Mr. Scott can't be in every movie theatre at the same time to work his miracles...

The same thing happened to me during a screening of the opus "Judge Dredd" unfortunately for me, the power came back on in time for me to see more Rob Schnieder.

Clearly, the gods do not wish you to see this movie. Defy them at your own risk.

But its a really good movie. Maybe even worth a smiting.

that sounds suspiciously like the last five years of my life.

It actually makes for a good BD present. I mean, years from now you can still say 'Do you remember when we tried to see Star Trek for my birthday?' and the answer will be 'yes'. Unlike most movies which are forgotten almost before you finish watching them.
