Coke Classic marketing at it's finest...or worst.

As for KFC, some of the newer ones I've seen actually use the original logo, with Kentucky Fried Chicken spelled out. Although now they are muddying the waters with the commercials for the grilled chicken and the use of the acronym "KGC".

Pizza Hut Name To Stay The Same
Company Issues Statement Addressing Its Brand

Dallas, TX (June 20, 2009) — "Pizza Hut is not changing its name. We are proud of our name and heritage and will continue to be Pizza Hut. We do use 'The Hut' in some of our marketing efforts," said Brian Niccol, CMO, Pizza Hut, Inc.

"To the loyal fans of Pizza Hut and pizza lovers around the world, we're happy to tell you that nothing is changing, we're still Pizza Hut, America's Favorite Pizza."

^^About 2 years ago, when they released the cherry vanilla Dr. Pepper, I distinctly remember a guy called "Dr. P" walking around the Calgary Stampede handing out cans.

Some things just shouldn't be messed with. It didn't work when KFC tried to use the phrase "Kitchen Fresh Chicken" and it didn't work for New Coke.
    Won't be long and they'll be calling Pepsi "P",Coke "C" and Dr.Pepper "Dr.P".

yeah but KFC has an Australian "mascot" now or something. No more Col. Sanders so I hear.

Pizza Hut pizza is just to damn greesy. It's like they soak the crust in it for an hour before baking.

Not anymore....Pepsico spun off Pizza Hut/Taco Bell/KFC years ago as Tricon Global Restaurants. They eventually acquired Long John Silver and those A&W shops and now go by Yum Brands. The only tie they still have with Pepsi is a life-time contract to serve Pepsi products.

As for KFC, in many cases, they've reverted back to use of the Kentucky Fried Chicken name.
