The power of Twitter (Pay attention Mr. Gordy)

So I posted the following picture of me and Chad in his Ironman suit at Megomeet with the following message...

http://twitpic.com/7ihgi - Me and Ironman taken from my @palm pre on launch day, June 6th

I get a couple views and decide to post this, since I follow Jon Favreau for Ironman 2 updates...

@Jon_Favreau Check out me and Ironman. Thought you'd enjoy the realism of this custom outfit. http://twitpic.com/7ihgi

That was about an hour ago. About 20 minutes later, much to my surprise, I get this "Retweet" from Jon...

RT @theclares: @Jon_Favreau Check out me and Ironman. Thought you'd enjoy the realism of this custom outfit. http://twitpic.com/7ihgi

That picture has now been viewed about 3000 times in under an hour.

    Crazy.

OMG. So..educate me....just "who" is most likely seeing this pic?
On Twitter's Home Page, does it show up as a random new image or what?

Or, is this a case where whomever your "followers" are, any of their "followers" and so on and so on.....

10,000 people seeing you and me together in that pic in less than a day is pretty freakin cool.

              edit-
Plus, are these people thinking this is a pic from the set of Iron Man 2 by any chance??

Twitter is based on these "followers", I follow a bunch of people, a mix of friends, news outlets, websites and yes, even some celebutards. In this case, at first I decided to "direct" my first "tweet" at Palm Inc (@palm) to show off the power of my Palm Pre's camera. Only Palm saw it, and my 20 or so followers, unless people were searching for "Palm Pre" or "Ironman" tweets in general.

Then I decided to direct a tweet to Jon Favreau. At that point, he decided to "Retweet" the message, which sent it to the nearly 100,000 followers of his. That is when it caught serious traction. It has been sustained since by others Retweeting his message back to me, or just taking the link to the picture and commenting to their followers.

Most people get that this was a Retweet, others don't. Some people think I am Jon Favreau in that picture, and you are Robert Downey Jr.

The one other "benefit" is I now have 29 followers, about 50% more than when I posted it.

I can't wrap my head around twitter (I'm still trying to adapt to microwave ovens and voicemail - and arguing for BETA over VHS), but once I finally figured out the link that led to the picture, I was impressed with the costume - The Iron Man suit wasn't bad either
Nostalgia just ain’t what it used to be.
