What's in your CD player or iPod?

I never seem to have started one of these threads so here goes:

The Fray - How to Save a Life

I discovered this song, How to Save a Life, on an episode of Scrubs. I bought the album and found that the song Over My Head, (Cable Car ), was also great. The song All at Once sounds a lot like an 80's style song you would expect to hear in a John Hughes type film. All in all a great album.

Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 in D minor, op. 125 "Choral" - Herbert von Karajan conducting the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra

Not the best available recording of this masterpiece, but it's my favourite.

I also recently acquired American Pie (Parts 1 and 2) by Don McLean for the first time and I've listened to it a few times.

Alternating between The Pixies' "Surfer rosa" and The Melvins' "Houdini" with some Kiss thrown in there for good measure.

                            Cd player? Ipod? Forget it.

These have been spinning on my turntable:

Judee Sill S/T Lp on Asylum-- Absolutely gorgeous SSW Laurel Canyon orchestral folk masterpiece.

Battered Ornaments "Mantle Piece" on Harvest-- Late 60's UK psych brilliance!

Kenneth Higney "Attic Demonstration" on Kebrutney-- New Jersey truck driver assembles musicians to lay down "demo" version of his "songs" and comes up with one of the more bleak loner testimonies ever put to wax....

Neil Young "Trans" on Geffen-- Generally dismissed as one of Mr Young's weaker efforts--I've always found it fascinating. Neil Young with a vocoder? Yes!

Michael Hurley "Hi Fi Snock Uptown" on Raccoon-- Can never go wrong with Hurley.....
