    Summertime!!!!

So what are some of the things that remind you of your childhood summers? I'm sure I missed a few but here are some of mine.

    Ahi parachuters!
    Slurpee Cups
Monster Mash, seems like this song was alwayys being played at the pool I went to as a kid.
    Watermelon
    Water guns
Bee stings, it never failed that I'd step on a honey bee every summer while running around barefoot.
Jaws, greatest summer movie of all time.
    Skatebording
THE ICE CREAM MAN!!! Kids could hear that music miles away and would freak!

Staying outside way past when the street lights came on.

Baseball!!! All day....league play.....sandlot....neighborhood with our own rules to allow for less than 9..."ghost runner on first, hit past there and it's an out".

Basketball. Ugh...hated it until about 17 (I was a 5' Freshman and always smaller than everyone else). At 17, I hit the height I am now and discovered I could dunk. I'm only 5'10", but once I figured out I had some leapers, it finally became fun.

Stuntman Club. Bicycle ramps, skateboard ramps, jumping off the roof.

        Boxing in the front yard.

The retired dudes in our neighborhood would come watch us play and cheer us on. That was cool and the stories they would tell us about WW2....awesome!

Rainy days were for Atari and there were enough of those to account for some fun memories, but most days.....outside all day, everyday. My parents NEVER had to beg me to go outside, they had to scold me to come in!

Spent a 4th of July doing that exact same thing with the entire volunteer fire department in a certain small town.

That made me into a good receiver/running back. Something about getting tackled on concrete made me want to avoid anyone touching me while I had a ball in me hands. (Yeah, I got the scars to prove there was a learning process.)
