Is "smeaned" some kind of Florida slang?

        I was wondering that myself.

Congrats on the car. Now I expect to see a full S&H paint job on that bad boy pretty soon.

bro I feel your pain,I done that a couple of times. The 1st a 1982 Z-28 the 2nd my 300zx Twin turbo. The Z-28 was a waste, but the 300's been worth it. Start hitting them junk yards

It'll be awhile before it'll look like a bright tomota as it is currently a lime green with rust int shot to you know where and engine is pretty much shot also

HMMNN i always found Camaros pretty easy to fix up i would think the 300Z would have been toughter due to it being a turbo, I've already started looking for a 351 for under the hood but it looks like replacement body panels will be hard to come by

I've always wanted a real Starsky & Hutch Torino.
So this was not an original S&H Torino, just a Torino of the same vintage you plan on turning into a S&H Torino clone?
That's cool, too. I'm not sure how many they actually made of the originals. I think they came from the factory like that. I do remember seeing them around as a kid and have seen some for sale at various times. (at OUTRAGEOUS prices)
Take some pics of the project.

The reason the Camaro was harder was because I was only 16 with no money,so i was buying part by part at the Junk yard. With the 300zx I just bought the engine from Japan for $2k and it was rolling! but I had to buy other parts here and there that I had no idea it needed

That sounds like a neat project that you have going on there. Best of luck to you on your newest endeavor. Be sure to post pictures as you make progress. I hope that you are able to make your goal.

Sorry, when I said "original S&H Torino" I never meant one from the actual show. I'd imagine those are all in some high-dollar collections. What I was referring to were the ones you could go down to the Ford dealer and buy.
I'm not an expert but I'm pretty sure that they were either factory made or a dealer-installed option but they were available to purchase when the show was new. Also I'm fairly sure the white stripe is a huge decal (like the Firebird "screaming chicken") but again, I could be wrong and I'm sure there's been plenty of painted-on stripes out there over the years.
Either way it'll be a cool car when you get done.

I believe the white stripe was an option as i rember seeing other Torino's with the same stripe back in the day, when i send my car out for the final touch aka the paint job i'll have the white stripe painted on instead of using a decal i bet when all is said and done my $350 car will be around 10k
