I don't know why some of these networks even have an "identity" when they are constantly veering from their basic expected programming. Wrestling on Sci-Fi???

There's actually a story behind that. When WWE relaunched the ECW brand the orginal plan was to make it seem as much like a seperate entity as possible. As part of that they decided to put the show on a channel seperate from their other programs. That of course all ended up falling to to the wayside but that's the reason there's wrestling on Sci-Fi.

Besides Military Channel and History Channel, I watch about 2 hours of TV a week.

        It sucks that bad.

There are really cool shows on cable...

Travel Channel's Anthony Bordain's No Reservations...and Andrew Zimmern's Bizarre Foods...are wonderful shows. You get to see other countries' cultures and cuisines...high brow stuff compared to the idiocy of the now lame Food Network.

Discovery's Deadliest Catch is another great compelling great show, fishermen putting their lives on the life for the pacific gold...crab.

I also love the History Channel's Battles B.C....it's pretty informative as well as fun to watch.

...and Spike TV's Deadliest Warrior...awesome...pretty cool stuff.

Oh...and I can't wait for Showtime's Dexter to start its third season.

            >I don't know why some of these networks even have an "identity" when they are constantly veering from their basic expected programming.

Producing new shows is expensive; and since a lot of cable channels are owned by the same conglomerate they cycle the same programming thorugh their different channels. Fills space, and looks new to folks who don't have the other channels.

That; and sometime's a station's theme is so narrowly defined there just isn't enough material to fill it with.

I absolutely loathe shows where you just watch people "be people".

"Hey my baby has thrown up all over the carpet. Let's devote an entire episode to that major event!"

                  Thank Zod for DVDs........

they advertised a ghost hunters show with kids, some kinda surviver again with kids, I didn't see anything i cared about. I knew once they started showing live action movies it was soon to be this way. I'm sure primetime will be these shows. and all the crappy pokemon and any other term with monster in it will slowly creep over to boomerang and they'll show les and less classic shows

How about that other new one So You Think You Can Dance? (I think that's what it was called.) Just when seeing people who can't sing wasn't enough...ugh.

If there's one thing I hate, it's reality shows. I absolutely refuse to watch them. They are all totally stupid to me. I miss actors playing characters in a story. My favorite TV channel used to be TV Land until they polluted it with stinking reality shows like the Cougar, She's Got the Look, and High School Reunion. I recall a few years ago, back when TV Land just played the classic shows, they did a summer marathon, and called it something like the Unreality TV marathon. Now, they're going against what they promoted back then.
I wish I had the channel, RTN. Retro Television Network. They are now the ones playing all the good stuff. And as for reality shows on CN, now they've gone too far.
And if Boomerang gets polluted with crap, I will hope they come out with a channel called Retro Toon Network. Wow!! I never thought I'd ever start sounding like my parents. LOL!
                        Cheers.
