When a Song is more than a Soundtrack

Is there a song that as soon as you hear, you place it with the movie it was on? Not just because it was on the soundtrack, but it almost became a character because it was so powerful in the scene it was used?

    For me it is:

Baba O'Riley in "Summer of Sam"

I don't want to link the video from youtube because it is not suitable for this site, but if you want to see/hear it, the video number is : zjsZEj5JvNo (blood, violence, adult language)

I got this topic from another site. Others that were listed were:

Highway to the Dangerzone from "Top Gun"
Indian Love Call from "Raising Arizona"

    What you got?

Indian Love Call wasn't in "Raising Arizona." The song heard in the film was a yodelled version of Beethoven's "Ode to Joy" from his Ninth Symphony.

Great scene in a great film.

A couple off the top of my head:

"Sister Christian" during Alfred Molina's scene in BOOGIE NIGHTS

"Stuck in the Middle with You" during the cop torture scene in RESERVOIR DOGS

I could think of more examples from Quentin Tarantino and P.T. Anderson films. Both directors do a great job of using songs to wonderful effect at certain points in their films.

"Lust for Life" during the opening credits of TRAINSPOTTING, and I can think of a few other examples in that film.

Wow, I think I've only heard of maybe two or three of the song/film combinations mentioned.
The first one that came to my mind was Power of Love from Back to the Future but that probably doesn't quite fit your definition. One that does is Somebody's Baby (Jackson Browne) from Fast Times at Ridgemont High from the scene where the girl loses her virginity.

Another one from Caddyshack: I'm Allright. Mr Gopher was pretty funny.
Tons of 'em come to mind from Heavy Metal, one of my favorites is Heavy Metal (Taking a Ride) by Don Felder. The B-17 sequence was awesome.
I always associate Lunatic Fringe by Red Rider w/the movie Vision Quest.

Everytime I hear "California Dreaming", I think of Wong Kar Wai's CHUNGKING EXPRESS. The song is played in that film A LOT. (great film though)
