Steve, meaning no disrespect, If he really wanted to learn the craft he should have started with a less skilled opponent. I think the word sad is probably warranted since he used to be a world class athlete with power and speed. He was a 40 steal 40 home run man in baseball. Unfortunately he is a shell of himself.

He is an untrained 44 year old man...fighting pros...he's gonna get hurt...and possibly killed one of these days.

He took steroids...he's both a cheater and a snitch.

He squandered his fortune on drugs, women, and other supid stuff.

He should get a real job...or go to school.

Oh, I agree his life's a mess considering what he once had, but I don't necessarily think this fight in particular was sad or pathetic.

Can you blame a guy for taking an easy five or six figure payday? I have no interest in being an MMA fighter, but if I were somehow (in)famous and I had a family to feed and bills hanging over my head, I'd consider an offer to step in the ring knowing I'd get that big a paycheck at the end that might make my life a little easier.

Also, I don't think it's really fair to condemn a guy for cheating and taking steroids while at the same time calling him a snitch for outing other guys for cheating, too, as if keeping his mouth shut and protecting other cheaters (or flat out lying) was somehow more noble. At least he's not Roger Clemens.

Let's see.......Canseco fought Danny Bonaduce (all 5'6" of him) to a draw and got KnockedTFO by Vai Sikahema (5'9", but Vai was a Golden Gloves boxer when he was younger, losing to eventual winner Sugar Ray Leonard).......what possible shot could he have had against a 7'2" 28 year old?
