Unbelievably, nobody said anything! Well, except this one lady that said I looked so beautiful. Other people kept their eyes averted--they were too nervous. They probably thought I was some freaky old Chinese lady with big hair. My sister was really shocked to see people's reactions--which was avoidance. She said it was an eye opener.

it's not everyday that people see an ape getting groceries. lol!
I can't wait to go ape again. I'm going next week to watch POTA on the big screen in Antioch and I HAVE to go under the goo again. I just have to see the 1968 movie with my ape on. It still took forever to put on the makeup...but it only took an hour to remove it this time. And yea...I also fell asleep with bits of hair and grease makeup still on my hands and neck just like last time. Even though we got home early (by 7PM) I didn't remove the makeup until 11PM just because I kept putting it off...it took so damned long to get it on...I just was lazy to have to peel and wipe it off.
That is so cool Jess. Nice pictures. I could only but imagine what others may have thought whether their thoughts be good or bad. It is all good on my book. I agree with Bryan on the above. If you have not already done so give you tube a try some time. I am thinking that you just may get so much positve feedback from it that you may actually be offered a role some day. Seriously. Now that would be cool to have one of our museum members on the big screen. Just don't forget to give us a shout out once you become a star.
The wig I am now wearing was partially re-done by me. It started out as a $200 wig which I cut apart (I am so brave!) and then restitched together. I added lace to the forehead part and then I tied on real human hairs two strands at a time with a ventilating tool (looks like a dental torture implement). I think I put in 40 hours at least just tying the hair down on the forehead. You just can't buy this type of wig, you have to make it. It's the first time I have made a wig.
If I can do this, I can definitely rehair a doll. That's nothin' compared to the lace I haired up....so....I can definitely rehair a doll for Nova once I find something suitable.
Here is a closeup shot of some t-pins, the lace, and the ventilating tool.
Wow! Jess, I have said/typed it before and I will say/type here again. You constantly amaze me at the level of high detail in which you do your awesome work. Today a wig tomorrow a Nova doll rehair. Awesome! Best of luck to you!
Enjoy what you like, and let others enjoy what they like. (C) Azrak 2009
