The Mego Ad was too cool. I hope Jessica has seen this, I was thinking of her when I posted the thread.

But of course I have seen the post it!! And thank you...I am always on the lookout for more ape goodies...I am like a hungry shark smelling a drop of blood a mile away at the first mention of apes.

It's gotten so bad at home that when my sister sees my attention waning because I have a tendency to get distracted she'll say, "Apes! Planet of the Apes!"

Why is Planet of the Apes on the HISTORY channel??
                LOL
Not only is it FICTION; it's FUTURE fiction!

and this sounds like the special that was on AMC about 10 years ago?? Or is this something new?

                  But the documentary is history...

Target says the DVD Release Date: 8/7/2001 but I think the IMDB says the show was produced/released/aired in 1999.

This may be the documentary that was released in the box set. I don't own it but I remember seeing something that had behind the scenes clips of apes having lunch and smoking cigarettes. You may be able to get it at your local library. Good stuff!!

If it's the one hosted by Roddy McDowall then it's probably the one that was on AMC for the 30th anniversary. I have it on DVD with the box set.
It's a great special though and if you haven't seen it, it's worth watching.
