If your mego buddy is winning do you outbid him?

Just curious guys and try and be as honest as possible

If you see that one of your mego buddies in here is the high bidder on an auction do you outbid him or let him win? I've seen a few of you guys a couple of times and haven't been able to outbid you.I mean honestly it's because it hasn't been anything that important ,but if it was I don't know what I would do

    what would you guys do?

Take no prisoners and leave nothing behind. :die: Ive backed off a few times when I noticed a member buying only if it wasnt something I was really interested in. That way it wouldnt rack up the price to much.

I only bid on things I add to my watch list, those are the things I'm usually serious about buying. I bid about the last 30 seconds of an auction. By that point it's every person for themself. That's why you bid based on how much you're willing to pay. If you're willing to pay more than your buddy, then that's just the way it goes. It's nothing personal.

all's fair in love, war and eBay bidding

If you back off on every auction you see someone else from here on the boards has bid on, you'd be lucky to get anything good

There have been times I've let things go by because I've seen someone from here has bid on and I really couldn't see myself outbidding them, and I wouldn't want to end up driving the price up for them.

most of the time I try not to know who's who on ebay so I can bid guilt free

Not sure how hard it is to stop the auto sniper? I do it manually. Most of the time you can end up paying more, because of someone having a snipe set :die: So you never know who's in the running until it's over.
If you know what your bud needs in the lot, or if there is something in that lot you're after, ask them to split it with you! You might get lucky and your partner just might do that. It helps the cost for both parties Thanks Steel, I still remember!!
LOL! yup I did the same thing with Steel and it worked out for both of us

I seek out items members are bidding on intentionally. I will try to outbid them even if I have to overpay. Even if it is an item I don't even want or possibly despise just for the sheer joy of taking down one of the evil horde. Especially Boss. He has not won an item on Ebay in four years because of my doubling his bids at the last second.

It would depend on the item. But it would have to be something I really really wanted or needed for my collection before I'd outbid a Mego buddy. Sounds corny, I know, but I'm just being honest.

If it's something I don't really want I'll pass to not drive up the price for the winning member.
If it's something I really want I usually bid at the end of the auction and then there's no telling which members you're bidding against. Sometimes I bid earlier because I can't be there when the auction ends and then I just hope people will recognize my ID and let me win... so far that hasn't happened a lot. I've been outbid so many times it ain't funny anymore

Honestly...I hardly ever even look at Name of the highest Bidder. I just add it to My watch List, and bid at the last second! Besides...there's no guarantee They won't get sniped at the last Minute anyway.

If I know that member really wants the piece I'll pass.

Last week a member saw me bidding on a semi hidden Supergirl. he knew that was the last WGSH I needed, and he passed on bidding.

Think B.A. Where did you hide the Megos?
