    Packaging can be so interesting!

Just got a package from the US, filled with Sideshow Apes.

Oddly enough, the first thing my wife and I check out is...not the items we bought.
Sellers often put newspapers and plastic bags in the box, for protection, and that's what we look at first!
You learn so much about another country, and the person shipping your stuff.
We look at the papers, Wal-Mart ads, which stores the bags come from.
    Dollar Store, Target,...
    A receipt for taco dip!
    Swine flu medicine packaging....
    Adult bookstore receipts....

We learn something about our friends every day....

PS: the Apes were great, too!!!!

I got a package in from MEX with a color two page spread of Carnival posters on it. It was awesome. Used it to wrap one of our Mom's day presents.

                I do the same thing.
                Also,
Many times when I get an envelope containing a Mego card from another country i'll keep the envelope because I like the stamp.

I'm always curious about stuff like that too, it's interesting to look through.

I often grab a stack of free weekly newspapers to use as packing in an emergency. This means that I'm sometimes using classified pages filled with personal ads advertising things like transsexual escort services (sometimes complete with pictures), and I wonder what the recipient will think of that.

                      And Caesar and Brent.
                      I love them.
I'll probably customize Ursus' helmet, giving him his longer "leather neckpiece", to make him more true to the movie.

Thanks for pointing Mike my way, Jessica.

Now that just might make for some "interesting" reading material. I am not so sure about any potential collector value though.

I feel that, to a lot of us, it seems to be a matter of:
to hell with that bloody action figure in the box, show me some old newspapers!
