    Lost: The "Commercial" Finale

Another great season comes to a close...and goes out with a bang! The episode seemed to be all over the place at times but this thread isn't really about the show. They stretched a one hour episode into two hours and had commercial breaks every 2 1/2 minutes. It seemed like there would be a commercial after every sentence was uttered - and the commercials breaks were longer than the program.

I realize that advertizers pay for programs but enough is enough. I'm not going to run out and buy a new car at 10:30 at night just because I am being bombarded with car commercials every two minutes. If anything I just end up resenting whatever product is being advertized (provided I even remember what they were). I was so fed up by the time the show ended that I logged onto ABC.com just to complain there. I know my email will probably never be read but maybe if they get enough complaints they "might" actually do something about it.

I think I'm just going to cancel my satelite service because I rarely watch broadcast TV. I don't know why I am paying for this garbage. It's so much easier to just wait for shows to come out on DVD and watch them without the constant interruptions for crap.

    Amen, brother.

I watch NOTHING on commercial TV anymore. I've tried to get my wife to let me cut off the cable, but for some reason she won't let me.

Lost is 41 minutes long normally. I DVRed the season finale and this "two-hour event" was 1:24. I just won't sit and watch 36 minutes of commercials. I know shows cost $$, but I'd happily pay $1-2 an episode to get away from these mind-numbing product pitches.

Well if you'll watch one hour with 41-42 minutes of actual programming then what's the problem? By your own calculations the 2 hour block contained the same show content as two 1-hour programs.

I taped it and fast-forwarded through all the commercials.
