    Best Concert/Worst Concert

Might have come up in a previous thread but curious what was the best concert you ever attended and worst concert and why.

For me best concert was Billy Idol (circa 1987). He isn't my favorite artist but I was there with about 20-30 friends, we had lawn seats in an outdoor arena and had a blast.

Worst concert-Easily Night Ranger/Jefferson Starship (or whatever they went by at that time) (around 1985 or 1986). Had 2nd row seats. Starship opened but they basically split the concert. I swear they sang "We Built This City" three times!!! Opening number, somewhere in the middle, and then again as an encore. Night Ranger...at least I knew what I was getting myself into. "Sister Christian" and couple of other schmaltzy songs but at least they played a little of everything. Some of my friends and I went along with girls we were dating at the time and that was about as extreme as they would go (music wise).

    Horrific. Your turn.

    Hmmm,

Best - Rod Stewart - Infatuation tour '84

Worst - Beach Boys '80 ... It wasn't that bad, just a little boring.

Well I the worst is easy - Styx and Reo Speedwagon- my ex wife drug me.
REO wasnt really that bad, they kinda rocked actually, Styx was a majot bummer. People were pouring out of the place after 4 songs. This was in Augusta 2002.

Best Show, thats going to be tough. U2 1987 Joshua Tree Tour. The Cure 1989 Disentigration tour. Toss up between those, also GNR opening for Crue in 87, nobody knew who GNR was yet, they were awesome.

                  Toss Up between the Best...

Either Metallica in 92 & or 95. Both times they came up here by themselves,.. played like a 4 Hr set .. Unbelievable. Know this,.. my Dates might be Screwed up,.. a ton of going on back in the day.

Also Pantera at the Gorge in Geroge in like 96 or 97 was pretty damn cool. Zombie Opened for them ...

                  Worse,..

Probably every single time I scene SoundGarden.
                  Scene them like 6 times...
Their Sound Stage Manager & crew Should be Fired.
Everytime,.. something was off,.. & the Tunes just didn't sound right... One of the Shows Chris Cornell was so Frustrated he threw His Mic Down on the Stage pretty Hard,... He was playing like 5 Songs into the set,.. & you couldn't hear his Vocals at all.

best hands down was Pink Floyd in '88 Momentary Lapse of Reason tour at Giants Stadium. Close runner up was Paul McCartney at Madison Square Garden, I believe in '89

worst, hmm...I might go with Billy Joel on that, I am a huge fan and was really disappointed in his live show.....that had to be around '90 or '91, althought I did see Bob Dylan during one of his religeous kicks and he did not play a single song I knew.

Best Show: Hands-down it was Colin Hay at the Black Orchid in Chicago back in 2007. I was expecting a great show and it exceeded all my expectations.

Worst Show: U2 at Soldier Field in 1997. I'm not a U2 fan to begin with, but I figured I should see them at some point. I was out on the field with no tiered seating in 100-degree heat. Security confiscated my bottle of water before going into the show, so I had to shell out $6 every time I needed something to drink. Plus, the couple in front of us kept making out to every song. All in all, I think I dropped about $350 on that show between the transportation, drinks, and tickets for me and my girlfriend (now wife). The only redeeming thing was when I tossed a belligerent homeless man off the train after he started getting in people's faces demanding money. I got a huge round of applause for that one.
