    Swatch Watches

I've picked up a few vintage beater Swatch watches over the years and I'm kinda, sorta getting a bug to put together a small collection of common ones. I'm really only looking to collect ones from the 80s and don't really care about anything rare. Still it would be nice to see some sort of extensive catalog from that era. Does anyone know of a good reference book or site on them?

Collecting Swatch watches was really "in" big-time a few years ago.

You should be able to find a plethora of info if you look.

    BTW,
Did I just say plethora ?

I had the coolest Swatch Watch back in the 80's. It was clear band and body, you could see the workings on the inside.

I know a big Swatch collectible is the large wall hanging clocks (store displays) that look like the watchs.

I think that one was called, "Jellyfish" and I picked one up recently. The problem with it is that the clear casing tends to yellow pretty quickly. I need a new band for mine and I'm debating on what kind I should use.

Man, I love picking up the beater ones for a couple bucks. I can wear them around and not feel too bad if something gets scratched or dinged.

So, does ANYONE know of some good sources of info for Swatches? As T-1 Kirk said, there's tons of stuff out there. The problem is, I'd rather not sift through all of it, especially if someone here is knowledgeable and can point me to the right starting place. I guess what I'm looking for is the Mego Museum equivalent of the Swatch collectors.

Well I guess I learn something new every day.

I definitely remember Swatch watches but I thought they only made them for females...I didn't realize they had male watches.

            El Guapo: A *plethora*.
Jefe: Oh yes, you have a plethora.
El Guapo: Jefe, what is a plethora?
            Jefe: Why, El Guapo?
El Guapo: Well, you told me I have a plethora. And I just would like to know if you know what a plethora is. I would not like to think that a person would tell someone he has a plethora, and then find out that that person has *no idea* what it means to have a plethora.
Jefe: Forgive me, El Guapo. I know that I, Jefe, do not have your superior intellect and education. But could it be that once again, you are angry at something else, and are looking to take it out on me?
