No problem here. I should have thought better when making jokes on this. My daughter has had the talking Dora house and perhaps 4 of the character packs mentioned. The dates of production don't match our toys, and I'm glad they don't match yours Bob.
What kid doesn't have Sesame Street toys? What toddler doesn't chew on everything? Scary that this can still happen. I'd say the next decade will be the safest FP toys ever made.Leave a comment:

Its completely understandable to react as you did when you are unsure if something this significant might have affected someone so important and close to you Bob. I am very glad to hear your daughter is safe from this, but there are obviously hundreds of thousands of parents in the same situation. We can only hope this is an example of over cautiousness at work.Leave a comment:

sorry
i must publicly apologize to you guys, I didnt mean to overreact, my wife has go me wound up about this, sorry!! CBG, after reading it again, it was kind of funny. Being a new parent i tent to overreact, i think i cryed more that she did when she got her vaccinations ( now i know what my dad ment when he said this is going to hurt me more then it does you) anyway, just to let you know that the toys my girl had were produced after the recalled ones. so again didnt mean to overreact...i hope were cool?Leave a comment:

Hope it all works out for everyone affected. These things seem to only be noticed for the larger companies. With China making so many smaller runs of toys (such as Mego repros), you wonder who would even notice problems like this on something with a run of 10,000. Makes you wonder for sure.Leave a comment:

thanks for the list! My godson has some of the Dieago toys, like the rescue set and a few other's too. I bought them for him.
I'm calling his Mom right now! Thanks again.Leave a comment:

Hope everything is OK, keep us updatedi dont see how you can think this is funny!! my year and ahalf daughter has to have intenstive procedures that a year and a half shouldnt have to go though including taking her blood just to see if she has lead poisoning. And if she does have it, there is not a damn thing we can do about it but hope it's not that bad to cause brain damage.
not very good from people talking about other people who have bad taste in other threads.
sorry dont mean to rant!!Leave a comment:

The more I think about my post the more I do feel bad about it. I truly never wanted to make fun of what families might be going through. I did attempt to lighten up something ugly. It's a story that's alarming to many of us. I do not think the situation's funny dispite my attempt to make a funny. I'm sorry and hope this was a precaution and that no one's children are effected by it.Leave a comment:

No offense to you or your daughter Bob, I hope & pray she's fine. But aren't the keywords in that recall "could contain" and only items sold in a lot number between April - July 2007. Most of those toys have been on the shelves for years, I know this because I was a former KB Toys Manager until October of last year.
For this very reason I have stopped watching the news years ago. You can't turn it on without them reporting on something that's hazardous. It gets to a point where children in general should spend their entire lives living in a plastic bubble.
I wonder how most of us ever survived childhood at all. My parents both smoked throughout my entire life. My mother smoked during pregnancy. Dad would babysit us at the local bar on the weekends, then drive us home. There was no concern over small parts on toys, nothing was baby proofed. There was no problem leaving us alone in a hot car with the windows rolled up. Seatbelts were an annoyance if the car even had them, forget child safety seats. We played on cement playgrounds that had rusty poles and chain swings and slides made of metal that would bake in the sun. We played with lawn darts and BB Guns and Bows & Arrows with Metal tips. We rode bicycles without helmets or kneepads. There were no anti-bacteria wipes to wipe down counters. Meat was kept out on the counter for god knows how long. We would drink water from the hose or even from streams. The biggest fear my parents ever had for me as a child was to make sure I didn't go swimming until an hour after I ate, after giving me a tuna sandwhich which had been sitting in a brown lunch bag all day.
So you will have to forgive the jokes. It just gets to a point where things start to get rather ridiculous.Leave a comment:

Ok Aaron slowly take the Dora figure out of your mouth. Put the figure in a ziplock bag, but not too big of a bag because you could potentially put it over your head and sufficate. Now put the bag in an envelope but be very very careful because you might get a paper cut from the envelope. Be sure NOT to lick the sealed glue of the envelope (not that it's dangerous it just tastes really bad). Get a #2 Ticonderoga Pencil and address the envelope to Fisher Price. Now put the Pencil in your mouth and chew on that.

I wonder if Megos were made today, with the standards set in the 70's how long it would take for a massive recall to be issued?
I think the T1s would get recalled before the T2sLeave a comment:

This sucks because I've been chewing on a Dora the Explorer figure all morning.Leave a comment:

Thanks for the information. I checked and none of my daughters toys are on the list.
I'm printing the list out so my wife can post it at her school programLeave a comment:
