It was at a local bar. She was there with her two sisters (one tends bar there) and her father who is in his mid 70's. Anyway it was a Tuesday night and my friend and I stopped there to have a beer. And I noticed this woman looked different, yet familiar, because she was the one a few years earlier who was featured on our local news because her husband had shot her in the face with a shotgun during a domestic violence incident. I remember being floored at the fact of her saying she might consider taking him back while interviewed in the news story back a few years. I couldn't believe that then.
But that night there were a few people there I knew and they introduced me to the family. After meeting her, she was such a nice person talking to her. I told her she was a very beautiful person. Her sister told my friend and I that she couldn't see too well because she was partially blinded.
Well to my surprise, this is her.

When I met her she appeared as seen in the lower left. I am rather private and would have never posted something like this had it not been for the fact that she is now America's first face transplant recipient. And I am thrilled to have met her. Such a nice person and never deserving of what happened. That monster who did it deserved the death penalty but only got 7 years!
