Sutcliffe wasn't a loser. He was an up and coming painter. John wanted him to play in the band because they had been friends. He wanted Stu to be part of it. He left because he knew they had real talent and he could hinder them. Plus he wanted to be with Astrid Kirchherr the definitive hamburg photographer of the Beatles. Stu died of a brain hemorrhage he was far from being a loser..........

        Yep, what he said.

Maybe Pete Best, but not Stu.

I would have to say the originator of Karaoke would take this hands down. That is some serious dropping the ball.

        edit:

besides that. John was the loser. He said so himself.

          Pete Best wasn't a LOOOzer.

LOOOzers are only people who fail because of their own doing.

Pete was f'ked by John, Paul and George

Yup! Pete was actually more Popular than them and they were ****ed that he wouldn't go with their style.
What killed pete was he was not a good drummer like Ringo.

Ringo was already in the picture and went along with their plans. He would have joined them earlier but Ringo was committed to playing with Rory Storm so he came on later.

Pete was and will always be a Beatle.

Mate. That is sorta offending to diehard Beatle fans. Stuart was John Lennon's best friend. He didn't really miss out on anything. He died before the Beatles became bigger then life. I think Stuart would have been involved with the Beatles in some way because John was still very close to him. Stuart left the Beatles because he knew he wasn't a musician and he wanted to pursue his art. I think Lennon and the Beatles would have helped his career along.

Stuart Sutcliffe and John Lennon are credited with coming up with the name for the Beatles, as they both liked Buddy Holly's band, the Crickets. Sutcliffe played with the Beatles in Hamburg, where he met photographer Astrid Kirchherr, to whom he was later engaged. He enrolled in the Hamburg College of Art after leaving The Beatles, and studied under future pop artist Eduardo Paolozzi.

Sutcliffe suffered from debilitating headaches while he was studying in Hamburg, and although tests were carried out by German doctors, no reason could be found for his worsening condition. He died of a brain haemorrhage on the way to the hospital on April 10, 1962, with Kirchherr sitting alongside him in the ambulance.

The biggiest loser in the Beatles would be Pete Best. He was kicked out of the Beatles right at the time they were taking off.

But...Pete Best got the last laugh in 1995 when the Beatle's Anthology albums came out and the songs he played on were released to the public. He received millions of dollars in royalties. Pete is finally sitting pretty well and tours with his Pete Best band that plays homage to the early Beatles and draws quite the crowd from what I heard.

My biggest loser vote goes to Vinnie Vincent (the guitar player that replaced Ace Frehley in Kiss in the 80s). His ego was so bad he was kicked out of KISS and he tried to start his own band Vinnie Vincent and the Invasion.
He still couldn't keep his ego in check so his record label dropped him but kept "the Invasion" and they became the band Slaughter and went on to make millions and the record contract was carried over to Slaughter.
Vinnie has been missing from the music scene since. Making a few appearances at Kiss conventions and trying to sue Paul and Gene here and there for past royalties for songs he helped write.

If Stu would have lived, he most defintely would have benefited from his association with the Beatles and especially John Lennon.
Lennon would have kept him NEAR.

Today, Stu would be another Klaus or perhaps he would have been Klaus

                    Hey Ryan,
If your interested in hearing more about Stu, I recommend the movie BACKBEAT.
                    Backbeat (1994)
Stu was actually the "cool" one, and was very much looked up to by John.

sorry to offend all the stu fans out there, maybe he isn't a loser but at the very least it's a wasted opportunity. i think he was even one of the cutouts on the sgt. pepper album cover.

I actually met Vinnie Vincent and The Invasion when I was younger. I have all of their autographs on a flat and The Invasion CD as well along with pictures of them. I totally agree Cat with what you said about Vinnie. I think that the guy was an awesome guitar player for that time. Too be that he had such and attitude about him that ended his career. The guy was a real piece of work and did him self in with his f'up attitude. His nose was way up in the air when he was signing autographs. I have both Vinnie Vincent Invasion CD's as well as Slaughter. Mark Slaughter is a cool dude!

It's not that you offended anyone buddy. There are some things that people know a lot about (like the Beatles) and when someone makes an accusation or posts a bias thought about inaccurate information, it sort of rattles the cage a bit.
It would be like someone making a post on here saying that Megos suck and are crap. Obviously, there would be a lot of people going, huh? Why do you say that dude?

I am probably the biggest John Lennon fan on the face of the Earth. I guess your post was making me go...huh? Where does this come from?

There are some really good books out there that tell some good stories. I would suggest watching the movie Back beat (as someone suggested) and several books on the Beatles. Stuart was far from being "the biggest loser". His untimely demise made it impossible to really put a finger on what could have been with him and the Beatles. He would have definitely had a job or a place in the Beatles, had he lived.

Don't it sweat! Nice to meet you btw.
