Confessional: Are you a Sucker??

I am guilty.

The commercials are terrible, and the product is probably worse but many of us are guilty of trying at least one of these things, and there are a million of them.

What annoying "As Seen on TV" item have you or yours broken down and bought? Were you happy, disappointed, surprised, or impressed? Confess your sins here.

Here are a few examples:
The Stealth Sound Amplifier
Salad shooter.
The Hercules Hook
Magic Putty
That stupid Snuggie monks robe thing??
Moon sand - This stuff looks cool, I want to play with some.
Aqua globes
The Topsy Turvy Tomato
The Chop Slap - another fine product sold by Vince.
Trade in your Gold for Cash.

My GF bought a Magic Bullet, we never use, and we have that rotiserie chicken thing, it works but it's messy.

I must admit I really want a Sham-wow. It has to work. I just know it does.
Vince is a DB, but I don't care he's funny, and I want one.

Then you would love watching Pitchmen on the Discovery Channel...starring those two informercial kings...Billy Mays and Anthony Sullivan.

It's actually pretty fascinating...seeing the whole process work...from inventor to final product.

Billy Mays drive me nuts, but I bet some of that stuff has to work. Some is obviously total crud.

The George ForeMan Grill.

It is the only info- thingy I have ever boughten,.. or own.
& I do not feel like a Sucker,.. because this thing Is Fantastic,.. & very easy to clean.

.. I do have interest in one of those Juicers I saw... I might pick one up , if I see it at this yrs Fair.

I don't own any of that stuff. I like the sham-wow infomercial though. It's really catchy. I was really thinking about buying a sham-wow but I'm not as sure now

The only thing we ever bought because of the infomercial (bought at a store instead though) was the Jack Lalanne Power Juicer. We are very happy with it, it works as well as it was advertised. It's still a bit of a PITA to take apart and clean, but not terrible. But juicers could be considered as one of those things that some people buy because they are on a health kick, use for a few months, then forget about it (like exercise equipment ) We do try to use it regularly though.

Got the girls the "Moon Sand" (from store, not off TV). Don't get it, gets EVERYWHERE!!!!

May I ask what a "Magic Bullet" is, know this is a family forum?

Jack Lalane's Power Juicer is actually a solid product...my has lasted for years...and it does work great...the drawback is that it's hell to clean.

Good to hear that it lasts in the long run. We've had ours for over a year with no problems so far and have put it though a lot of use.

Once again. I was thinking the same thing. The commercial is very catchy. This guy could give Nayrbgo a good run for the money when it comes to selling stuff. LOL!!! And I mean that in the best possible way. I think that both of those guys could sell a freezer to an eskimo.

I was tempted to buy one of those sham wows as well. I never did. I am glad now that I did not according to the above comments for it being not up to par. I rarely if ever buy anything from an infomercial although I do have to admit I was almost a sucker for that this. Big time!
