Star Trek TOS and POTA

Actually it all depends what source you use for the dates on POTA.
In the original movie Taylor & crew took off in 1972 or 73 and when they landed on POTA the date read 3978.
I've seen some referenced at 3955 and some other dates I can't recall but basically all in the 40th century (2,000 years from now).

Timeline 2151 and 3978
Hi Rich,
I was just wondering, if POTA and Trek were in the same timeline, did Taylor visit Earth during the TOS era.
I think TOS is 2200 AD. I do not recall when Taylor landed on POTA. That is all. Just wondering about "when" they happened.
I used to know TOS very well. I'm embarassed I can't recall the timeline better but I never memorized when POTA was. Was it 2600? I know there is a scene showing what year they landed.
OK, http://www.startrek.com/startrek/vie...tro/index.html says TOS begins in 2151.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Planet_...es_(1968_film) says POTA occurred in 3978.
That was my question. TOS is ca. 2151 and POTA is 3978. Doesn't mean much really. They are different universes. But it gives me an idea that I like very much...

OOH, a very interesting idea. What if in the Mirror Universe instead of being at the planet of the Halkans, they were at the Ape Planet? That would be a cool movie...or episode... or short film...
I think.

I wouldn't know...I have not seen Battle Star Galactica.http://www.lothere.com/verso/images/...ror_mirror.jpghttp://4.bp.blogspot.com/_BeDp209ZLs...paper_1024.jpg

The Mirror Trek guys would do one or all of the following:
1. Place them all in zoos or circuses
2. Hunt them all down with phasers for sport
3. Make chimp BBQ ribs, gorilla burgers, and orangutan tacos outta them
4. Blow up the backwards planet to smithereens
5. All of the above

Thank you for posting this. I missed this completely. It is now going to make its rounds among the ape fans. That was great!!Not Star Trek, but I remembered seeing this when I was looking for stuff on the end of the new series. Someone made a fan film combining the classic Galactica and POTA

I done this scenario w/ my kids a few times. One of the apes
got rough w/ Uhura and broke her arm (replaced by Dumbldor). Yeah, it would have made a cool Trek crossed universe episode.

I understand that the details are probably not that important to your original question but Taylor dies in Beneath, he didn't return so I'm not sure I follow your thinking?

Star Trek TOS and POTA
Anyone have any cool pictures or displays of a Star Trek meets Planet of the Apes scene?
I thought it would be natural as a kid to do a landing party that met up with Apes.
It would even be a good Trek episode... I'd have to see if Taylor visited POTA before Trek.
I'm thinking Taylor returned in 2200 and I think Trek was also 2200 hmmm What if Mirror Trek guys visit POTA...
HMMM...
If you have or can make a pic of this please post it. I'm wondering how they look together. I've never seen Type 2 Apes either. All mine were Type 1 with Silver wrists... Ick.Tags: None
