    "It's Just a Comic"-Nice Change

Just wanted to share this as for anyone who's ever sold a comic as it's a nice change of pace. I let the buyer of this item
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...DME:B:RTQ:US:1 had just shipped today and apologized for the delay. He basically said if it was something important might be different "but its just a comic. No problem". I was seriously floored. A refreshing attitude and if there were more out there like that I might be inclined to sell more!

That is a huge change of pace. Glad to see this guy has some perspective on life.

I like that. I try to keep that attitude when I buy back issues because I just want to read them.

I know people are very afraid of buyers where comics are concerned. If there's one little defect, or any sort of delay the buyer will immediately resort to harsh reprisals.

It's just a comic??!!! Sure it's just a comic, but that mere comic represents the hopes and dreams of countless millions of basement dwelling collectors whose true dreams of love, riches and success were dashed long ago. That comic represents more than the paper it's printed on. That comic is the placebo of everyone who's ever blocked out their harsh reality and poured themselves into the fantasy world in which capes represent power and gravity defying bosoms long for their keen minds and chiseled features. It is in fact not just a comic!

You know I had no idea comic buyers in general were so picky. I've been buying readable silver and bronze age comics without much care in the condition, as long at the front cover and all the pages are there. There have been a few times that when I left feedback for the seller, they'd leave me over the top nice feedback, and I've had a few send me really nice thank you emails ... I didn't really understand why, until I read a post here before, and now this topic that there are some real turds out there in comic land

Unfortunately, there are a lot of creeps on EBAY period. Fortunately, most people are nice to do business with. Since I started on EBAY, I've had about 20-30 transactions go sour in some form or another and given that I have had maybe 800 transactions, I guess a 4-5% rate isn't too bad but they sure do stick out in my mind, even ones from years ago.

No such thing as just a comic book

As someone who buys silver age and golden age comics to read them, I definitely agree with the "just a comic thing". Unless it were like... Amazing Fantasy 15. Then that's history. Haha.

Sorry. If it makes you feel any better I'm sitting in a basement right now contemplating the upcoming Iron Man movie.
