why so blue?

Those emoticon thingies load really slow on my cpu sometimes, especially when I am posting a reply.

So then I go old skool and just type the : ) version, but why does it come out blue? like so instead of a happy yellow like this dood?:

I like using the emoticons as most already know that is no big secret there. I think that it is a great way to set the tone in a thread. It is too easy to take something out of context when someone does not use them IMO. Some prefer not to use them and that is their given right. Again to each their own. One does not know if they are happy, sad, mad in hate mode or what have you. For example:

Yo What's up? as in how is it going my friend.

OR

YO What's up? as in do you want some of this?


I don't think I ever bother using the blue emoticons though as they are well..... so blue. That just does not coincide with my friendly, out going attitude. I do not consider myself blue. In answer to the question in the topic it looks as if the blue dude has been suffocated IMO.

I used to try the old school smiley but the blue one wasn't to my liking so I took up instead. I always put some kind of emoticon at the bottom of every post but is my generic favorite.
