Oh my god..unless I missed it, nobody mentioned Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan, considered the best Star Trek movie!

In spite of Gorn Captain correcting you/us---
kazombie, you literally beat me by a minute or two in pointing that out
        I missed it too---
I was gonna say you Trek Guys should be ashamed of yourselves

THIS is the top ten B.O.

        1. E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial
        2. Tootsie
        3. An Officer and a Gentleman
        4. Rocky III
        5. Porky's
        6. Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan
        7. 48 Hrs.
        8. Poltergeist
        9. The Best Little *****house in Texas
        10. Annie

I'm a big BLADE RUNNER fan too----but the fact that
BLWIT and Annie are rounding out the top ten here
speaks volumes on why 1982 isn't such a great movie year for me----

HOWEVER Blade Runner, Rocky III and ESPECIALLY 48 Hrs. and Tootsie
make for a dang decent year all the same.

I'm still going for 1984 though
