Oh man this is depressing. I remember seeing a lot of his fights. He was a really good fighter.

Page was the typical boxer who refused to retire when he was well past his prime.

In 2001, he was utterly beaten to submission, and viciously knocked out by some younger up and coming fighter...he went into a coma...he recovered...but then suffered a stroke...and had nothing but health problems ever since.

The man was a solid heavyweight...he had a lot of natural talent...he just didn't live up to expectations...but when he KOd Gerrie Coatzee...that was his biggest win ever...and I was really impressed.

        Sad story...but typical.

        RIP, champ.

Drugs and being out of shape kept him from becoming one of the best. Like Hector said, he stayed wat too long. His win over the South African was a big suprise. Coetzee could punch and was a solid fighter. Damn this sucks. I grew up watching this guy. Bonecrusher smith was my favorite fighter as a kid. I will be a basket case if anything happens to him.

            From Wiki...

"Smith became an ordained minister in 1996 and dedicated his life to helping young people stay clear of crime and drugs. Three years later, he retired from boxing.

In 2002 Smith started the non-profit organization Champion For Kids Inc. to provide scholarships to high school students.

Smith began working as a recruiter and the Director of Intramural Athletics for Sandhills Community College in June 200"

As you can see...Bonecrusher is doing just fine.

              RIP

Thats horrible news about Greg Page. He was also a sparring partner for " Mike Tyson". I used to train at Mike Tyson's gym and remember Tyson talking about Greg Page being tough in sparring.

And I liked Bonecrusher too, it sucked to see him lose against Razor Ruddock though! Bonecrusher had a killer right hand, he waited 12 rounds to try to hit Tyson, but when Crusher landed Tyson wobbled!

              RIP Greg Page.

Tony Tucker did the very same thing...he didn't do anything throughout the fight...but on that last round...he blasted Tyson once...and Iron Mike was doing the Jello dance as well.

I think that was the first round, at least thats what Mike told me, said he was Rocked bad by a Tucker upper cut in the first 40 secs of the Tucker fight. Tucker is another cool dude, he also trained at one of the gyms that i did in Vegas, but he then moved to Florida. He's a security guard now in Tampa. Tyson still lives here, havent seen him in months but here & there he pops up at casinos, clubs and local malls.

Darn it...yes...you are right...it was the first round...not the last...lol.

                    I'm going senile, lol.

                    My bad.

Hey, how's Mike in real life?

                      Tyson

From my experience with Tyson he is the opposite of what the media portrays! Very mellow and down to earth, i have many hanging out pics with Tyson & my family, he would always say bring in your son to train with me, my son was one at the time! He chased off some low class idiots onetime who were messing with me at his gym, he has always been a normal guy to me.

That's cool...I'm glad he's not a nut job in person.

Actually, his public persona has mellowed a lot nowadays.
