Sesame Street, The Electric Company, Villa Allegre, or Zoom???

Battle of the PBS 70s children's shows!!!

I watched them all...but the one I always couldn't wait to watch was none other than...

Morgan freeman and Spidey...you just couldn't beat that, lol...

The Electric Company also had the coolest intro...

I watched both Sesame Street as well as The Electric Company. I cannot remember which if either that I watched the most of. I just remember watching them both. I thought that Spidey was pretty neat on The Electric Company.

Electric Company too. Loved the cheesy jokes. Plus Bill Cosby was on there as well.

                Electric Company all the way!
I bought the DVD set, it's really helping my 7 year old with her reading skills. Excellent stuff that holds up well educationally. Plus there's Paul the Gorilla, LetterMan, & Silent E!

I was a HUGE Sesame Street fan as a kid (who wasn't?) but definitely had much love for the Electric Company also. Sesame Street would be shown at 4 pm, followed by Mister Rogers at 5 and Electric Company at 5:30. But once Zoom hit at 6 pm, I changed the channel. The only cool things I ever liked about the show was Ubbi-Dubbi and the way that Bernadette chick did that goofy arm wave thing.

Electric Company was my favorite as I got a little older, but Sesame Street has to be top dog for me. It was everything until I was about 4-ish. I still know the zip code for at least one section of Boston because of Zoom.

My God, she's ageless! Julie was always my fave!

As far as my fave PBS show, all of them! The 70s was when PBS was actually COOL. I watched Sesame Street way too long (I think until I was 8 or 9), as well as Electric Company. But those shows taught me to read, and the characters were like coming home. Zoom was the BEST! All the kids learned how to do Bernadette's "arm thing" , speak Ubbi-Dubbi and drove the teachers nuts, and thought up Fannee Doolees. Now I teach my kids to do those things. And I loved Villa Alegre (as well as Carrascolendas). It made me think I could speak more Spanish than I actually could, but helped me in later years, taking Spanish in Jr. Hi.

                          GOD BLESS 70s PBS SHOWS!

Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."

That's exactly the way I remember it as well. After EC it was back outside to play.
