The Redskins did so-so. They really didn't have many picks so Brian Orakpo looks like a good pick up along with what looks like some decent off season pick ups.

The big question mark is Jason Campbell. I think most of us in Washington have pretty much given up on him. He is big and shows signs of brilliance at times. He is just inconsistent and makes a lot of stupid mistakes. Everyone wants to give him more time but I seriously don't know how much more time to give him. I don't think it helped that the Redskins were looking to pick up a top QB in the draft after trying desperately to pick up a decent quarterback via free agency while telling the public that Jason is still the #1 guy. I honestly think they will be ridding themselves of Jason if he doesn't have a stellar season this year.
I thought Brian Orakpo was a steal at that pick, and yeah Jason sucks. He'll be a solid back-up at best.Put Jay Cutler,or even Cassel in that offense and I think you'd have an instant contender

    Bloody Al Davis.

Yeah, I think we're talking baout the same thing. In like a flat 40 or something like that, he'd be impressive, but no one would be ga-ga over him... but the breakaway speed that guy had- HOLY COW.

Maybe he would a been a legit track star if someone was always chasing him, trying to take his head off!

Jerry Rice was not a track star...but he had the uncanny ability to brake tackles (due to his strength)...and he was the very best route runner in the game...but he just wasn't a demon speedster.

49ers scored huge with Crabtree... maybe got the best player in the Draft...

Then again, he could be the greatest receiver who ever lived and he's still going to have Either Alex Smith or Shaun Hill throwing balls to him... so I'm not 100% sold on all this just yet.

As for Jerry Rice being slow, he's the only man I've ever seen who's *faster* in full pads out there in a game than under ideal "track" conditions. His workout numbers never looked like the very top, but in a game, no one could touch him.

Cause they get it done in one less down...

I don't follow college ball closely enough to say wether any of the Pats picks will pan out at the pro level. It doesn't really matter much as most of the draft analysts have no idea who Belicek is picking anyway, it just works. They announce a pick and they're all sorting through paperwork going "Who the hell is that? I don't even have him on my list!" Half of em will get cut in the next two years and the other half will be contributors. They trade away top picks for multiple lower round picks and pay nothing in signing bonuses. I was surprised when they took Mayo last year but after his first season, he looks like he's been in the NFL for years and was worth every penny. Been like that for a while here. In Bill We Trust. Has a nice ring to it.
