I use to go fishing (angling) up until i was about 15 i use to fish on canals, rivers and lakes.

I always fancied going sea fishing, like wreck fishing,as thats where the monster fish are ment to lurk

I only went twice and wasn't really impressed.

I don't even care for pond or lake fishing.

My idea of fishing is hiking up any number of small local creeks "cricks" and dropping the line in wherever I get the urge.
Oh please...who would not be impressed being on the majestic sea?

Yeah, fishing in small creeks is more impressive than the ocean, lol.

            I wonder about you sometimes...Mikey...

                  That stuff is overrated.

Now for really awesome stuff...there' nothing in the world like fishing for tadpoles in some small creek.

Used to fish a lot when I was a kid.
Then again when my kids were young.

Haven't had the time for quite a few years now.

Too bad, as we have some really good fishing up this way.
I am right on the shores of Lake Erie, and I have Conneaut Creek running almost through my back yard (about 2 blocks east of me).
And some nice ponds scattered around the county.

The funny thing is, I don't like sea food.
About the extent of it is popcorn shrimp occasionally.
Never cared for perch or crappie (which is what most fish the lake for)

I'm all about having a good fight with a nice bass or trout.
Everything is catch-and-release unless someone I am with wants it.
Or if I get some nice trout. (I like trout as it doesn't need to be scaled or filleted)

                              What is to wonder about?
I too would rather be out in the woods fishing a stream than out on a boat.
                              Boats are boring.
                              Never understood the appeal myself.
I'd much rather spend the day covering 15 miles of creek during the fall trout run. Especially before the weather really turns to crap, and the leaves are still changing color.

I mean really. Which would you rather do.
                              Spend the day here

Or out on some empty, flat, and boring large body of water?

I can spend about 10 minutes fishing and then I get bored, but when I was a kid I went fishing with my Dad alot. It's just not for me. I'd rather hike.
