    UFO's/Aliens real?

Anybody ever see a UFO? Whats your opinion? I saw something odd in the summer of 1977! Day light sighting of a very large gray kinda dirty looking oval object motionless for 20 secs or so, then it darted off behind the tree lines. Dont know what it was, no sound! Bottom appeared burnt black.

Yes Mitchell is a very interesting character. And what he has to say on the topic of extraterrestrials, alien aircraft in our skies, advanced alien technology, and governmental cover-up is pretty harrowing.

Here's his interview with a British radio station

YouTube - Edgar Mitchell UFO interview on Kerrang Radio 23 july 2008

Naturally, there are those on this message board and others who's first inclination will be to ignore what he has to say and dismiss it as nonsense.

I, on the other hand, tend to believe what he has to say... based on the fact that he is a former lunar astronaut who is far more sophisticated than a layman who might mis-identify an ordinary object in our skies or upper atmosphere.

I base my belief on the fact that so many other astronauts who have gone into orbit around our planet or visited our moon have also reported seeing strange craft in our upper atmosphere, buzzing their own shuttles and space capsules, or on the moon.

I am absolutely certain that a large number of people who report seeing these craft in our skies, or who report having contact with extraterrestrial beings (usually through an abduction experience) are mentally ill people who are suffering from, over-active imagination, mental delusion, or paranoia.

Some of these people are nothing more than publicity-seeking glory hounds.

I am equally certain that other witnesses are indeed seeing objects in our skies that they are MIS-IDENTIFING as extratrerrestrial craft, when they are in fact merely weather baloons, helicopters, meteors, atmospheric gases, or even experimental military aircraft.

However, I just FLATLY REFUSE to believe that ALL of the reported cases of possible extraterrestrial sightings / contact fall into these three categories.

There are far too many reputable, responsible, sober, sane, and serious people, from all walks of life, and from AROUND THE ENTIRE WORLD who have reported seeing / experiencing these things for them to ALL be mistaken or crackpots.

I'm talking about policemen, clergymen, airline pilots, military fighter pilots, astronauts (like Mr. Mitchell here, Gordon Cooper, or even Apollo 11 astronaut Buzz Aldrin), and at least one US President (Jimmy Carter) have all reported having had Close Encounters of the I, II, or even III kind.

I only hope that I live to see the day when the US government and other governments throughout the world finally provide FULL DISCLOSURE on this matter.

I will not say that they do exists nor will I go on record stating that they do not exist. What I will say is this. Seeing is believing for me. I think that it would be neat to see a huge space ship just like the one in the movie Independence Day minus the aliens wanting to blow us off the face of the Earth that is.

I personally believe it is laughable to think we are the only life form in this universe. our human minds cant even comprehend the vastness of this universe, much less what lies outside of it. Distances between advanced civilizations are just too vast for realistic interstellar travel...so although I do believe they exist...they are just not here with us...they are too far away.

              They can't see us...we can't see them.

I mean look...these are just stars...we are not talking about galaxies...and then the entire universe...these are just stars...

I saw something strange once back in the early 90's, but at the time I was on drugs so I couldn't really trust my own eyes. My brother saw it as well and his description matched mine, so he kind of confirmed it. Then again, he was on drugs too. I know we saw something odd, but I can't saw for sure it was an alien spacecraft. I made stupid decisions back then. I still make stupid decisions sometimes, but not those kind of stupid decisions.

I believe that it's possible that intelligent life exists somewhere else in the universe.

                    Hmmmm....

According to the Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy, there is NO intelligent life in the universe. That's 'cos spce is really, really big.... about as close as infinite as you can get. The number of worlds with intelligent life is finite; and any finite number divided by infinity is about as close to zero as you're gonna get. The Guide then goes on to explain that anyone disagreeing is obviously nothing more than the product of a deranged imagination....

I believe most of whats seen is military aircraft of some sort. Lots of advanced stuff being tested that no one wants to admit to owning. In the late 80's my parents and extended family kept seeing a strange triangle shaped craft flying over their hometown in TN. When the Airforce unveiled the B2 bomber they realized that was what they had seen fly over them for several weeks.

Think B.A. Where did you hide the Megos?

I have seen a UFO,i was about 12,me,my bro and a few friends were fishing at nite on the river,we were all sat together making some food, when we saw this light,it was greeny/yellow and made no noise,it hovered for a bit in the distance, then it went towards the hill and disapeared,it was a weird and eerie feeling,i gave up nite fishing shortly after that

There was a special on Discovery awhile back where they were bouncing around the idea that most of the "UFOs" are actually aircraft based on German designs from the 40s. When you see the stuff they were working on at the time, you can see how they could be mistaken for stuff that's not of Earthly design.
