My wife is a member of the local Freecycle group. For those that haven't heard of it, it's basically how you get rid of, and aquire...junk. It's for all that stuff that has no value, but you hate to throw it away. Have a broken toaster? There's probably someone on freecycle who wants it for parts or can fix it. Looking for an old beatup tire for a tire swing? There's probably someone who has one they want to get rid of. No cash trades hands, you just come and get it.
Anyway, my wife saw an ad for late 60's/early 70's dolls and snagged it. She was thinking it a long shot, but thought there might be some mego or Joes or something in there as well.
One of the unwritten rules is if you claim it, you come get it. You don't get there and say "Oh, this isn't what I thought it was". So needless to say, I have 2 boxes of vintage babydolls. I don't want to just pitch them, and I don't want to put them back on freecycle after just picking them up. Heck, there might be something of value in there that I'm too ignorant to know about.
So if anyone has a wife who's into this kind of thing, or knows someone who knows about this stuff, I'd like to snap some pics and ask some questions before I just dump them. Just in case!
LMK.
