"Jaws: The shark is still working" premiere

Great story below. Apparently this is the long awaited 'Holy Grail' of behind the scenes footage never shown and stories of the legendary epic. Make sure to watch the trailer at the bottom of the article. It's classic!

Sorry for the late reply here guys. I was part of a test audience on Martha's Vineyard a couple years ago while shooting our sequel and saw "The Shark Is Still Working". I also know the producers and my wife and I actually appear in this doc. The doc is not only about the making of Jaws; it is also about it's enormous and legendary legacy as seen through it's enormous fan base. The trailer is here and if you watch closely you will see me talking in front of my Jaws stuff wearing a beige hat and a black Jaws shirt...

The film I saw was the original 3 hour cut; on it's current tour of the film festivals, one of which is in October in New York, it runs 1 hour 40 minutes. What's great is the guys got Roy Scheider to narrate shortly before his sad death in 2008. They even got Percy Rodriguez, who is the famous narrator of the classic Jaws trailers, to do the trailer above for SISW using a cool variation of the original trailer dialogue. If you watch the trailer to Jaws om YouTube and listen to the guy's voice, you will see it's the same guy only many years later.

For more on SISW check out these sites...

and the home of our "JawsFest Films" and other Jaws talk...

                THE JAWS BOARD

With another JawsFest on the horizon next Summer on Martha's Vineyard, I have a feeling SISW will be out on DVD sooner rather than later considering next Summer is the 35th Anniversary of the film.
As you can see from the trailer, it's an absolute winner and features every aspect and person involved with Jaws from Steven Spielberg himself right down to the islander kid they cast to get chomped off the raft.

My wife and I shoot fan films on Martha's Vineyard (where it was filmed) all about Jaws. More info on those can be found on our website archive...

Lou Yanas JawsFest films (jawsfestdvds)'s profile on Myspace, the place where people come to connect, discover, and share.

If you'd like I'll try and keep you guys updated on SISW as I obviosuly get breaking news on the doc within the Jaws fan community I am heavily involved with.

Any DVD release dates in the works for this? It looks to have all sorts of behind-the-scenes footage that I've never seen before. I can't wait!!!

Yes, there is A LOT of historic Jaws footage in this doc, including an islander's home movie of the movie being filmed. One scene that is generating a lot of interest is the footage of raft attack on Alex. Originally the shark was to be seen rising out of the water and chomping on the raft. You can see a real quick snippet of it in that trailer I poted on the previous page. Here is a pic from the footage...

As far as an official release date, there isn't one yet. As soon as I hear otherwise, I will let you guys now.

OMG, I never put together that the trailer I saw so many times was narrated by Percy Rodriguez whom I know best as Commodore Stone on Star Trek.

He also passed a couple years ago, unfortunately.

Yes Mike, another piece of good fortune for the guys; they got Scheider and Percy, as well as JAWS author Peter Benchley, before they passed. Here's the guys with Percy during production of SISW...

So nice to see you pop in on The Jaws Board Mike! Jim is throwin' you some business with the Jaws box so that's cool!

Here's the full photo album of the production of SISW...some great shots here...
