Mold smell out of old bubblegum cards

    Hi,
I've been getting some old cards from ebay and some of them have been coming in with a really bad moldy smell. Would the laundry sheet trick work for that, too like for smoke smells or is the card bad news if it has mold in it? Anyone have any suggestions? These are not valuable cards by the way.
    It's all good!

Until you find an answer, quarantine it.

You don't want to contaminate your collection.

Wow, didn't think about that. Do you think the mold could spread even if the cards were in sleeves in an album? I guess so since the top of each sleeve is not sealed off.

I don't know if this will work, but my sister uses this for old doll outfits.
Put them in a closed box with a bar of soap.

My Mom used to buy old book at garage sales. If a book had the moldy smell she would lie it out under the sun for the afternoon. It seemed to help

Think B.A. Where did you hide the Megos?

I have no idea what that is. Thanks to everyone for the suggestions, too.

On a serious note, place the cards in a ziplock baggy with some baking soda.It should absorb the oder.

Used to clean as mellow as a smoked in apartment or as much as a decomp. I'm sure you can rent one for the day pretty cheap, just stick it and the cards in the bathroom and fired it up for a few hours.
