That is far from true.
I work a resturaunt and it has been SLOW.
Unless your right by the masters you dont do jack this week. Unless your Hooters or the local nudie bars its dead. These next 4 days are when its really a ghost town, this is our spring break, Alot of stuff is closed, school is out and a good deal of people that live here leave town. They have greatly limited the amount of badges for the actual tournament so there arent very many people here now at all.
We do more revenue when the Rodeo is here in January and fall than the masters.
I am not trying to be rude but that is hilarious.
Actually Im glad alot of those people dont come out to eat, they are rude and cheap. My staff made more weekend before last than they have this entire week.
Hotels make a killing but thats about it.
People that have never been here think thats all thats here, that is far from true. We have Fort Gordon ( home of the Signal Core) Medical College of GA , and about 7-8 other colleges/tech schools. We pull way more from all that. Especially our Service men and women who are absolutly some of the best customers youd ever want in your establishment.
Im talking to my dad on the phone, he says there are about 3000 badges available for the torumanent days.
And if you ever come here thinking your going to get to see that course, forget it. Personally , and I feel I speak for a good deal of people here , I wish theyd take that golf course and thier money and get outta here.
