Schooling after high school?

I went to Maine and played a bit of hockey. Quit my junior year cause i was going to go pro, at least i thought i was anyway..lol so why stay in school. Man i wish someone had talked me into staying. Started playing semi pro instead and had an injury that ended it all and i got fat and out of shape. Now i'm getting ready to go back to school in the fall starting with B.L.E.T and then criminal justice.

I've taken a lot of college courses for various things; para-medicine,supervisory training,forestry,small engines,....on,on,on
I have no masters in anything but I feel education is never ending and any chance to learn something should not be wasted.
That being said sitting in a classroom for years on end is not for me.
I love life have been married and have three wonderful children that's education man.

My best friend has been in college/university since graduation we are both 36 now.
I have a great job,wife,kids and life.
He has just graduated with his masters in forestry and now been told sorry we have no jobs for you???
Now he is so far in debt there is no light at the end of the tunnel he says.
He has also said he feels to old to have kids now???

It's a risky choice you roll the dice,sometime it's 7 and sometimes it snake eyes.

After High School I went into the USAF. I got Technical training from them which was Awesome. I thought about going to College but I never had the desire and didn't feel like making the time. I do think College is a really Great way to go but it just wasn't for me

In my opinion, there is something to be said about too much college.

I know people who also spend the better part of their 20's and 30's in college only to come out and have zero practical experience.

It is one thing to read something in a book and another to use it in real life. My college degree gave me a good foundation on the basics but most of my accounting knowledge has come from on the job experience.

Got a BA in Creative Writing from the University of Illinois - Urbana Champaign in 1993.

Took a year off to work and save up some money.

Got a M.S. in Advertising from the University of Illinois - Urbana Champaignn in 1996

I've been thinking about taking some MFA courses and concentrate more on just writing. I've been working in Advertising/Marketing ever since I got out of school and would eventually be more than just a prostitute for marketing dollars. At one point, I thought about getting an MBA as well, but figured that it really just didn't fit my temperament as a person. So now, I work and write in my spare time until I can figure out the next steps to take on my career path.
